Electrical Engineering Technologist – Electrical Design

POSITION TYPE:  FULL-TIME

Job Description:
 

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• In-Shop Work:
o Electrical Schematics Design using EPlan;
o Building and wiring of Industrial Control Cabinets and Auxiliary Components (motors, sensors, pneumatics, etc.) based on Electrical and Mechanical Schematics;
o Electrical troubleshooting;
o Other Project and Facility Related Functions.

• Off-Site Work:
o Installation (utilities and equipment) and Commissioning activities at customer facilities;
o Other Project Related Functions.

• Travel Requirements:
o Initially day trips and limited overnight travel, generally within 100 miles of Woodlawn, VA;
o Within 12 months, the role will require overnight, domestic and international travel.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of 2-year College Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience;
• Ability to read and understand electrical wiring schematics;
• Good understanding of electronics principles with a strong mathematical aptitude;
• Must be able to follow all TAM and Customer dictated safety protocols and job requirements;
• Strong Written and Oral Communication Skills and the ability to communicate with customers, vendors, management and co-workers in a professional manner;
• Work well in a group or individual setting;
• Excellent Organizational and File Management Skills, Capable of Multitasking;
• Ability to walk, climb, stoop, lift up to 50 lbs. and work from heights of up to 30 feet.

PREFERRED SKILLS:
• Familiarity with SolidWorks, EPlan, or similar CAD-based Engineering Software;
• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.);
• Previous Experience in Industrial Manufacturing setting.
