Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Technologist
POSITION TYPE: FULL-TIME
JOB PROFILE:
TAM is seeking a motivated individual who can add value to our Assembly Shop and Technical Services teams. This role requires work in the shop and in customer facilities in collaboration with our Project and Service Team Leaders to deliver high quality automation soutions and services.
KEY FOCUS AREAS:
o Panel Building
- Follow electrical schematics to assemble and wire industrial control cabinets
o Assembly
- Follow mechanical assembly drawings to construct mechanical assemblies
- Follow electrical schematics to assemble and connect auxiliary components to control cabinets
o Electrical and Mechanical Troubleshooting
- Follow internal protocols to verify that all assembly is correct, meets quality standards and functions as intended, prior to shipping to the customer
o Installation and Commissioning Serivices
- Installation of projects at customer site
- Bringing equipment up to production speeds and ensuring the equipment performs to the customer's expectations
oTravel Requirements
- Initially day trips and limited overnight travel, generally within 100 miles of Woodlawn, VA
- Within 12 months, the role may require overnight, domestic and international travel
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE:
o Minimum of 2-year College Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
o Ability to read and understand electrical wiring schematics and mechanical drawings
o Good understanding of mechanical and electronics principles with a strong mathematical aptitude
o Must be able to follow all TAM and Customer dictated safety protocols and job requirements
o Strong Written and Oral Communication Skills and the ability to communicate with customers, vendors, management and co-workers in a professional manner
o Work well in a group or individual setting
o Excellent Organizational Skills and Capable of Multitasking
o Ability to walk, climb, stoop, lift up to 50 lbs. and work from heights of up to 30 feet
PREFERRED SKILLS:
o Familiarity with SolidWorks, EPlan, or similar CAD-based Engineering Software
o Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
o Previous Experience in Industrial Manufacturing setting
